PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma)

Often described in the media with dramatic flair as the “Vampire” or “Dracula” facelift, Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) Therapy stands as a wholly natural approach to skin rejuvenation and restoration.

What is PRP?

By tapping into the healing capabilities of your own blood, this procedure visibly diminishes loose skin and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and nose, as well as on the neck and hands.

Beyond its aesthetic applications, PRP Therapy proves effective in addressing scars, including acne and surgical marks, along with stretch marks. Demonstrating remarkable versatility, this procedure extends its benefits to combating hair loss in both men and women, especially when coupled with other hair loss treatments. Our medical professionals will delve into your specific needs and the advantages of the treatment in detail during your consultation.

PRP, Platelet-Rich-Plasma can:
  • Stimulate Collagen Production
  • Plump Sagging Skin
  • Diminish Acne Scars
  • Treat Hyperpigmentation
  • Improve Hair Health & Volume

How does PRP work?

Within our own blood plasma, we have “platelets,” carriers of potent proteins and enzymes known as “growth factors.” These remarkable natural elements play a pivotal role in the healing of damaged skin, particularly skin that has experienced loosening or volume loss due to the inevitable ageing process.

During PRP Therapy, our expert practitioner will extract a small quantity of your blood. Subsequently, this blood sample undergoes meticulous processing and filtration to separate the plasma housing the platelets. The practitioner will then administer this platelet-rich plasma to the targeted areas, triggering the release of its protein content to unleash its natural wonders on your skin. Surrounding cells respond by proliferating and initiating the repair process. Collagen production experiences a boost, resulting in heightened skin volume. With time, your skin assumes a firmer, radiant, and rejuvenated appearance.

How long does PRP take to work?

For skin and face concerns, it can take a few weeks to see the results from PRP Therapy. However, with two to three top-up treatments, the results of PRP Therapy can last up tp 12, or even 18 months.

What is the downtime for PRP?

Fortunately, there is no downtime associated with this treatment, there is no recovery time with PRP and side effects are rare. However, some patients may experience some bruising or redness in the injected areas, but this should subside after a couple of days.

Does PRP hurt?

Even though the PRP treatment has been hailed as the ‘vampire facial’, do not let this scare you! Pain is minimal with just a few quick and easy injections. Our team will ensure that the treatment is as comfortable and pain-free as possible!

How many PRP sessions will I need?

Normally, patients require around 2-3 top-up treatments to maintain and boost results that can last up to 18 months. Every individual of course is different and unique, so number of sessions does depend on your skin type, and other factors.  This can be discussed with your practitioner during your consultation.
