Skin Boosters
Skin Boosters are injectables that improve skin texture, elasticity, hydration and overall appearance! Skin booster treatments involve the ever-popular hyaluronic acid which is a soft, gel-like substance found under the skin. This works to improve and boost the skin’s hydration, firmness and radiance giving an overall GLOW to the skin!
What are Skin Boosters?
In simple terms, Skin Boosters are injectables that improve the skin’s elasticity, firmness and radiance giving an overall better skin quality!
They are an injectable hyaluronic acid that acts as an internal moisturiser to hydrate the skin, and provide the skin with overall ‘boost’. The injectable also improves the skin’s firmness and radiance by stimulating natural collagen production (we begin to lose collagen from age 30!). From reviving sun-damaged skin and smoothing wrinkles, to fading scars and stimulating natural healing processes, Skin Boosters provide long-term rejuvenation that lasts for up to 9 months!
Areas that can be treated with Skin Boosters:
- The ‘saddle bags’ outer thighs
- Thighs
- Underarms
- Stomach and lower abdomen
- Chin and jowls
- Knees
- Pseudo-gynaecomastia (more commonly known as ‘man-boobs’ )
How do Skin Boosters work?
The procedure involves a sequence of precise, shallow injections. These are targeted at the outermost layer of the skin. Infused with hyaluronic acid (HA) and a combination of rejuvenating elements, Skin Boosters aim to replenish skin luminosity and vitality. HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body, renowned for its ability to attract moisture and promote cellular hydration. Resulting in a plump and rejuvenated complexion. With advancing age, our HA levels diminish, leading to loss of hydration. By reintroducing it via injections, the lightweight HA molecules within the booster draw moisture and water from the body, effectively moisturising and rejuvenating the treated area of the skin.
How long do Skin Boosters take to work?
Skin Boosters are typically administered in a series of 2 or 3 sessions, with noticeable results becoming evident approximately 4 weeks post-treatment. Following this period, you have the option to undergo additional sessions for sustained benefits or maintain optimal skin hydration and with individual treatments spaced every 3 to 6 months.
What is the downtime for Skin Boosters?
There is minimal downtime involved with Skin Booster treatments. Following the procedure, you may experience small bumps at the injection sites, which typically diminish within a few hours. Light makeup can be applied to the treated area as needed.
How often should I get Skin Boosters?
For optimal results and effective maintenance, we recommend that at least 2-3 sessions are completed, with each session being 2-3 weeks apart.
What is the difference between Skin Boosters & Dermal Fillers?
- Dermal Fillers: Dermal fillers are primarily used to add volume and fullness to areas of the face that have lost volume due to ageing or other factors. They typically contain substances such as hyaluronic acid (HA), calcium hydroxyapatite, or poly-L-lactic acid, which are injected beneath the skin to fill in wrinkles, lines, and hollow areas, or to enhance facial contours like the cheeks or lips. Dermal fillers are often used for deeper lines and wrinkles or to augment facial features.
2. Skin Boosters: On the other hand, Skin boosters are specifically designed to improve skin quality, hydration, and radiance. They usually consist of a thinner, more fluid form of hyaluronic acid (HA) than dermal fillers and are injected into the superficial layers of the skin. Skin boosters work by attracting moisture to the skin cells, improving hydration levels, and stimulating collagen production. They are commonly used to enhance skin texture, treat fine lines, improve overall skin tone, and rejuvenate dull or tired-looking skin.
So, while both dermal fillers and skin boosters involve injections and can enhance the appearance of the skin, dermal fillers primarily add volume and structure to the face, while skin boosters focus on improving skin quality, hydration, and radiance! So, it all depends on your specific needs and aesthetic goals, both treatments are incredible solutions to an array of concerns!

FAQs
As with general Hyaluronic Acid fillers, there may be some swelling, bruising, localised redness at the injection site, itching and tenderness immediately after treatment. These reactions are normal and temporary. They are a result of the injection itself and generally resolve by themselves. Any swelling that may occur can remain up to a few days but should resolve within a couple of weeks without any intervention.
Bruising may be reduced with the application of ice packs immediately following treatment.
- Avoid applying make-up to the treated area for the first 24 hours after the treatment.
- Avoid vigorous exercise, prolonged exposure to UV rays, temperatures below 0°C 3 days after the treatment.
It is important to wait until any of the above injection related symptoms have resolved before you see your final results.
